With the trade deadline at hand, and having just learned that a 50-game suspension for shortstop Jhonny Peralta could now be imminent,The bride wore an off the shoulder monclercoat with white flowers in her hair. Detroit Tigers general manager Dave Dombrowski on Tuesday night dealt minor-league outfield prospect Avisail Garcia to acquire young Boston shortstop Jose Iglesias.

The transaction was part of a three-way trade. Boston immediately sent Garcia and three minor leaguers to the Chicago White Sox for veteran right-handed pitcher Jake Peavy. The Tigers also sent minor-league reliever Brayan Villarreal to the Red Sox.

In a midnight press conference at Comerica Park to announce the deal, Dombrowski portrayed Iglesias, 23, as both short-term insurance against a Peralta suspension and as the Tigers' new long-term shortstop for the years ahead.A canadagooseparkajackets or wedding gown is the clothing worn by a bride during a wedding ceremony. "We like him a lot," Dombrowski said.Welcome to order your own juicyhandbags on sale with 100% guarantee quality and low price. "We aren't going to look for another shortstop."

Iglesias is a spectacular defensive shortstop who can also play second and third. He's hitting .330 this season in part-time duty, including starts at third base. Stephen Drew is Boston's full-time shortstop.Work a crowd in this evening gown from germanuniforms.

Iglesias he has just five hits in his last 43 at-bats. He's a right-handed hitter who has yet to show much power or stolen-base speed in his 98 big-league games.

But the Tigers have lots of hitters. For those inquiring, I did not buy the affordableoneshoulderweddingdresses. Iglesias brings them the infield range they are often cited for lacking. Before this season, the authoritative publication Baseball America said that Iglesias was perhaps "the best defensive shortstop prospect in the game."

Dombrowski said: "The more we talked about our scenario, if there is a lengthy suspension in which Jhonny does not play — and I do not know where that stands — we now feel very well protected with someone we like a great deal. We didn't feel protected for a lengthy period with the guys we had internally the more we talked about it."

This afternoon's game with Washington could be Peralta's final game in a Tigers uniform. The Tigers next scheduled game is Friday, which is when Iglesias is due to join them.

Peralta, who can be a free agent after this season, would then be eligible to return with six games left in the regular season. But would the Tigers take him back, now that Iglesias is on hand? Dombrowski declined to address that issue.

Why would Peralta take a suspension now instead of appealing it and possibly postponing it until next year? One possible answer: He wants the suspension behind him by the time he hits the free-agent market in the off-season.

Dombrowski made the Iglesias trade in the countdown to today's 4 p.m. non-waiver trade deadline. He said talks on it picked up shortly before the Tigers' game with Washington began Tuesday night.

Early in the game, media reports surfaced that Peralta could be among the big-league players who accept a 50-game suspension within the next few days for their involvement in the Biogenesis scandal. The Associated Press said Friday appears the likely day for all the suspensions to be announced.

Dombrowski was asked if those reports of Peralta's imminent suspension added momentum to the trade talks about Iglesias.

"It's a situation where there's a lot of uncertainty, which concerned me especially with our scenario in trying to win a championship," Dombrowski said. "I don't really know what's going to happen as far as timing. But when there are enough things being discussed, you get a little bit concerned about those things. . . . I read the same names you read (on the list of players that could be suspended), and I got concerned.

"My problem is that after 4 o'clock (today) I cannot aggressively try to do anything that's assured, because after 4 o'clock — if anything happens (with Peralta) and people know we are looking for a shortstop — there are shortstops that aren't going to make it through waivers."

After today's non-waiver deadline, players must pass through waivers to be traded. Other contenders could claim a shortstop on waivers in order to block the Tigers from getting him to replace the suspended Peralta.

"But we would not have made a deal that we didn't feel comfortable making to this magnitude unless this type of player involved was coming back," Dombrowski said. "We always have thought that we might have to trade one of our young outfielders for another hole we would have for the future."

The White Sox assigned Garcia to Triple-A Charlotte. He doesn't figure to play for them in this weekend's series with the Tigers at Comerica Park. But Dombrowski knows that Garcia, 22, will play a lot of games against the Tigers in their Central Division match-up.

The Chicago Sun-Times said Garcia was the key to deal for the White Sox. "Garcia is is a very young, five-tool player who already has spent time in the major leagues," White Sox general manager Rick Hahn told the Sun-Times. "Our scouts are extremely optimistic about his future and view him as a potential impact talent for many years to come."

The Tigers have known for weeks that Peralta could be suspended sometime this season for his reported involvement in the Biogenesis drug scandal.

At a press conference on trade-deadline issues Tuesday afternoon, Dombrowski said the club wasn't looking for a bat and he listed the Tigers' organizational depth at shortstop.

"Argenis Diaz (the Triple-A shortstop) is an outstanding defensive shortstop," Dombrowski said. "(Danny) Worth is playing second base (at Triple-A) — we know he can play shortstop. (Ramon) Santiago can go over there and play.

"You're not going to get the offense from any of them that you would get on a regular basis."

He declined to lengthen that sentence to "on a regular basis from Peralta" or "on a regular basis from an average big-league shortstop." But it appeared to be what he meant.

After the Iglesias acquisition, Dombrowski said the internal candidates could replace Peralta if he was out a few weeks with an injury.

"Fifty days, if it comes to that and a postseason run, you'd like to be stronger," Dombrowski said. "And this makes us stronger."

Garcia has played for the Tigers in parts of the last two seasons, and he had some standout moments in the post-season last year. He and Nick Castellanos were the Tigers top two outfield prospects. Garcia's exit would make Castellanos path to the majors less crowded.
