There have been a slew of offerings in the online consignment space over the past 24 months: The Real Real, Poshmark, ShopHers and more, all connecting overburdened clotheshorses with aspiring fashionistas hoping to score designer pieces at steep discount. For all of them,All saxobankcycling and accessories are made with the same authentic materials as the originals. proving the goods are real is a critical issue.

Today sees a newer entry taking shape: the saccharinely-named (and Y Combinator-backed) Lollipuff hopes to add eBay-style auctions to the space, meaning sellers and buyers interact directly with less work (and less of a cut) for the company-as-middleman. According to the company, the standard cut for competitors is 30-40% of the transaction. Lollipuff takes just 7%.

“We’re the only one in the space that has the dual benefit of a low seller fee at the same time as we can guarantee authenticity,” says Fei Deyle,The Canada Goose Manitoba Jacket has a removable hood and is a slim, modern fit which makes it ideal for city streets or Arctic tundra.benebags the site’s founder and a former electrical engineer who started Lollipuff as a blog where she opined on her favorite designer Herve Leger (he of the infamous bandage dress). When she started selling some of her favorite dresses to blog readers, she says she knew she’d hit a nerve when they asked if they could do the same, turning her passion project into a marketplace. “I realized I’d hit gold when the seller list was three months long,” she says, “And I became profitable as a one person ‘business’ in only 30 minutes a day.”

Now Lollipuff, just six months old and in its second redesign, has roughly 800 active users who spend an average of $500 per transaction on second-hand luxury goods. Deyle says her site accounts for 35% of the Herve Leger resale, but what she’s most proud of is the technology she’d built to guarantee authentication of designer duds, an increasingly common problem in the fashion industry, particularly online.

It’s a relatively unknown profession—authenticating designer clothing, shoes and handbags—but one that Deyle has become an accidental star in. “There are dozens of businesses online that do nothing but provide authentication for items sold on eBay,” she says. “And it’s profitable.” If you buy something in an auction and you find out after the fact that it’s a fake, it’s up to you as the buyer to hire one of these companies to evaluate the item and write an official report to be submitted to eBay’s fraud department.Welcome to columbiajacket outlet online store and buy latest Cheap Louis Vuitton handbags.

Lollipuff relies on a team of authenticators, led by Deyle who says she became one of the lead voices in authentication several years ago when she wrote a post on her blog about fake dresses being pawned by a big online consignment store (although she doesn’t say which). “I roasted them,” she laughs, “And they started paying me to help verify their stuff!”

Deyle believes in her own expertise so much that Lollipuff boasts a 100% money-back guarantee—and her team authenticates items solely from photos submitted by sellers using both personal know-how and a patent pending piece of software written specifically for the job. The startup’s other founders include Travis Deyle, who holds a PhD in robotics, and David Mohs, an ex-Google GOOG -1.73% software engineer. “Others depend on the touch and feel of an item,With avant-garde design, best quality materials and the most subtle quality, womenbelt is the best alternative for expensive belt.” she says. “But in reality if you can’t authenticate through a photograph it really just means you don’t know enough. A true expert can use nothing but a photo.”

Of course authentication isn’t the differentiator for Deyle—the fact that her company doesn’t bring the goods in-house to verify or facilitate sale fulfillment is. Competitor ShopHers, which joined the ranks of online consignment last year, has a similar promise of keeping it real. Says founder Jaclyn Shanfeld: “One of the major differentiators about Shop Hers is our dedication to a platform built on trust for both the buyer and seller, the only way to guarantee a trusted experience is to manually check and vet all merchandise for authenticity in-house.”

But where ShopHers asks users to send in items for potential sale (as in traditional consignment), Lollipuff operates on a familiar 10-day silent auction format. New items—currently the site exclusively facilitates sales of Herve Leger, Chanel , Christian Louboutin and Balenciaga–are added by sellers the site for auction and potential buyers place bids above a minimum purchase price. At the end of the 10-day period, the highest bidder wins. If there is no winning bidder, the item becomes available for immediate sale. Familiar territory for most of us.One of the most popular ones are fake watches, fitchshirt illegally produced copies of authentic Rolex watches.

Deyle says growth since December has been roughly 30% each month but hopes this month’s redesign will help to increase users at a much faster clip. “There’s a real need for peer-to-peer designer resale,” she says. “And we stand out because we’re not taking $400 of that $1,000 purse you’re taking. We’re gonna take $70, and I think that’s going to set us apart—and bring a much more attractive set of sellers.”
