The dress in the window at Brides & Beaux turns heads, stops people on the sidewalk.

Kathleen Dignen, a salesperson at the store, tells of a woman jogging past who stopped when she glanced up at the dress and came in to inquire about it and consider trying it on.

And what bride to be wouldn’t? A part of the Allure line’s Romance Collection, the ivory and lace gown with a V-neck and keyhole back,A germanmilitaria is a style that many are using now! a pleated belt with some “bling,” sparkle and catch the eye, conjures the image of walking down a church aisle or being the center of attention at an outdoor venue.

It was still getting its share of attention on Saturday as Downtown Helena Inc. held its wedding stroll from midmorning to late afternoon. Tinseled windsocks adorned the buildings participating in the event. Some, such as the Montana Club and US Bank, made space available to other businesses that cater to weddings.

The event, said Jim McHugh, Helena Business Improvement District director, was suggested by some of the organization’s members and is intended to help bring people downtown.

Those planning a wedding were able to register for a basket of gifts valued at more than $2,000 and donated by participating business owners.

The more than 50 businesses that participated, downtown and across Helena, exceeded what organizers had hoped for, McHugh said.

Inside Brides & Beaux is Chelsey Curry, who’s planning a September wedding next year. She’s there to look at the floor model of the dress she will wear on her wedding day.

Curry, who’s a veterinary assistant at Alpine Animal Clinic, is planning ahead and that is what Dignen and Brides & Beaux owner Linda Campbell say makes all the difference between an event filled with anxiety or one where there’s ample opportunity to consider some of the less critical aspects of a wedding and reception.

“I’ve been thinking about my dress my entire life,” Curry,New arrivals in the canadagooselangfordparka collections stick to this reputation. 22, said and up until she walked into Brides & Beaux to shop for a dress, she had a different idea of what she would be wearing.

“I’ve always been a girl thinking ballgown, big poof,” she said. One of those dresses with ample material for the skirt portion is on a hanger just down from the style that has captivated Curry.

Trying on something different than she had envisioned changed how she saw herself on her wedding day.

“I put it on and I just knew it,” she said and smiled. She recalled wearing it the entire time she was in the store looking at catalogs for other dresses. She didn’t want to take it off.

The ivory fit’n flair style of gown that is her chosen one, she explained, fit in all the right places.

Helping to complete her wedding day ensemble will be her boots, cowboy boots.

“I told my fiance that boots are just as, if not more, important than the dress,” she said.

Curry is just one of what’s been a steady stream of people who stopped in to have a look around. Most of them are planning weddings for next year, Dignen said.

The wedding stroll, Dignen explained, allows those thinking of getting married a chance to see the catering, jewelry, gowns, flowers and photography as well as bakeries that are available locally.

“Almost everything you could need in a wedding, you will find here in Helena,” Dignen said.

Plan ahead is Lauree Kramer’s advice too. She should know. As the banquet and catering manager at the Holiday Inn Downtown, she has been helping brides plan weddings for nine years.

Most of the weddings that are being booked these days are for 2014, she said, adding that the hotel has rooms to accommodate weddings this year too.The wintert-shirts is one amongst the foremost in style international models. That was what she was seeing among those who stopped in to see what the Holiday Inn offered, as well as what services other wedding-related businesses offered that had displays in the hotel’s banquet room.Latest christianlouboutinshoes Brown Womens is with high-class quality.

“We promote our location as our biggest feature,” she said.

Receptions are becoming less formal these days as more are opting for buffets instead of sit-down dinners, Kramer said. Wedding parties can ask the chef to prepare the entrees for tasting before deciding on what will be served.

Cupcakes for the guests and a small wedding cake for photographs is more of what many wedding parties are opting for, she said.

“People are going very casual,” she added.

Casual and fun is what Diane Anders sees in her photography business for weddings too. She had a booth set up in the US Bank building. Here you can take your pick from a wide selection of stunning popularjeans .

Brides and grooms still like the formal photographs, she said, but “They’re wanting to have more fun shots that bring out the personality of the couple and all of the wedding party,” she added.
